Jaguar XE & F-PACE Get A Power Up!

Have you ever thought, "Hey you know what? I wish my XE or F-PACE had more horses to totally not slide around corners in Wales"? Well, wish granted! Jaguar has announced that there will be a nice new power upgrade for the Jaguar XE, XF and F-PACE models with a 2.0 Litre, 295bhp monster. The new 2.0L four cylinder, Ingenium powered engines produce a whopping 400Nm if torque for neck moving acceleration.

Jaguar say that will this new engine, the F-PACE can do 0 - 60 in just 5.7 Seconds and in the XE it makes the blistering time of 0 - 60 in 5.2 Seconds. That's supercar territory!

The new four-cylinder engine, benefits from the latest Jaguar Land Rover engine technology, including twin-scroll turbos with ceramic ball bearings to reduce friction and a high flow compressor wheel for enhanced performance. The new engine is manufactured at the £500m Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, UK.

Nick Rogers, Executive director of product engineering said:

"We continue to broaden the range of our Ingenium engine family, giving customers more choice than ever before. Our new 300PS petrol engine provides the performance synonymous with Jaguar, while delivering enhanced fuel economy thanks to its state-of-the-art exhaust technology and pioneering valve train design. This clean and more efficient engine perfectly complements the advanced lightweight aluminium body structure of our XE, XF and F-PACE models.”

Further updates for the 2018 model year derivatives include added convenience features such as a Gesture Boot Lid for the XF and XE, as well as Jaguar’s Configurable Dynamics technology. This allows drivers to personalise the automatic gearbox, throttle and steering settings to suit their personal preference. So pretty strong stuff from Jaguar! It does beg the question though, when can we get a hold of one?
